RSG! Welcomes New Program Director: Megan Rivera
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Megan Rivera as the new program director of Ready, Set, Gold! Her diverse background in athletics, program direction, coaching, teaching, events, and marketing make her a perfect fit for the role.
Megan brings with her a wealth of experience gained during her time at the Los Angeles Kings in their Hockey Development Department. During her tenure, she was responsible for executing over 35 events per year. Megan's expertise in event management and marketing will be invaluable to Ready, Set, Gold! as the program continues to inspire and motivate young athletes in the Los Angeles area.
In addition to her work with the Los Angeles Kings, Megan co-founded the LA Lions, which is the largest girls' youth ice hockey program in Los Angeles County. As the club president, Megan was responsible for managing the budget, registration, scheduling, equipment, and coaching staff for five teams. Her leadership and passion for youth sports have made a significant impact on the girls' ice hockey community in the region.
Megan's education credentials are impressive, including a California Single Subject Teaching Credential, a USA Hockey Level 4 coaching certification, a Master's Degree in Teaching from USC, and a Bachelor's in Communications and Human Development from Boston College. Megan understands the critical role sports play in building confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills.
In her free time, Megan coaches for the San Diego Angels Girls Hockey Program and spends time with her two daughters, making art. Her commitment to coaching young athletes shows her dedication to empowering young women to develop their potential on and off the ice.
We are confident that Megan's passion for education and sports will be instrumental in the continued success of Ready, Set, Gold!
